How can I beat a CR250R?

well it can be done but its not going to be cheap ,youll need around 1700-2000 in upgrades

Finally, someone who can point me in a direction instead of just talk trash. 1700-2000 can be done. I don't really want to go to a bigger machine cause the blaster is so nimble. Haven't met anything that can keep up in the trees. so what does 2000 get me into?

Debt. lol j/k. It can be done though. I have a 91 KX 250 and i raced my blaster against it (friend riding the kx) and it only pulled by about 5 bike lenghts by the time i was in 5th. The race was on pavement with my gearing 15/38 on 21" Duro street tires. The kx's top speed at the 1/8th mile was 74mph and i pulled away once we were finally toped out. It would take a bit of time and money to get it to flat out beat it though. Your best bet would be the CT sonic jug, extensive port work, rechambered head, set up for race fuel, lightened flywheel and counterbalancer (or remove it) 3mm stroker crank, advanced timing, 38mm keihin carb, nology ignition, drag pipe (or inframe pipe, whatever you plan to do) etc. etc.

If you want to beat a CR 250 then you need to get another 250cc 2 stroke dirt bike and build it better then his. I"m not saying it can't be done, but this is another one of those how can I make my Blaster hang with a 450 or banshee question. You can put $2000 into a Blaster motor and have one hell of a strong fun motor to play with but if you want to keep up with the bigger bikes you might want to consider getting a bigger bike. A Blaster is one of the funnest quads you will ever ride but there it's like anything else, there is only so much you can get out of a 240cc motor. Just think really hard about sinking $2000 into a Blaster motor hard before you do it.

,well it is true youll be making it more of a drag only machine engine wise to acomplish this goal ,con8quest6 hit it on the head wit h his mod list ,there are still more things to add though. such as case porting .. manifold mods .override tranny .. vforce 3 250R reed cage .. lg clampon KN filter hd cltuch kit ..lockout clutch . ect. the engine is only 50% of the task... the chassy, tire and ,gearing setup is where the rest of the race will be won

or.. get some basic upgrades g\done, good port good porting and head work, carb, gearing, and a wicked set of shocks, and learn how to ride it hard!!! take him on some trails and tell him to keep up!!

yeah so the amount you would dump into the motor you would have been abile to buy a banshee and start with a much stronger contender.

It really depends on how well you shop around. Think about it though, getting smoked by a blaster would be so embarassing to everyone you whip. With a fast quad thats to be expected, so nothing special. blasters also have one of the best power to weight ratios thats one good reason to build.

Yeah, like i don't really think the idea of dumping another motor into it, and then saying it's still a blaster that can beat a 250r, if you wanna beat him or give him one heckof a run for his money, then do what flotek said, go with that stuff, get technical, rather than trying to just follow my dad's saying, "There's no replacement for displacement." That's not always true, i've got a friend who has a blaster, that has almost all of the duncan racing parts on it, including the national kit, and he destroys our other friends lt250 out at the dunes, he can out-jump, hill climb, and drag him any day. On the stock 200 bore, it's just all about how you tweek the tranny and motor and chassis like the smart guys said

granted its i na quad frame but heres a 240blaster versus a cr250 /trx250R stroked hybrid ,cr250R triple exhuast design is hard to beat always a top contedar in the semi pro class.

they also make a 285 kit for the blaster if you want to go nuts, i mean really nuts, good luck keeping the wheels on the ground with that in there in conjunction with the rest of the goodies, if it was me id get that vitos bb kit send it to flotek let him go to town on it, and go from there. or buy b_russell_82 i think, check in the for sale section, he has a bb kit for sale, already ported by flotek, with what i am running now, i dog my buddies raptor through the trials all day long, but when we hit the flat land he gets me.

So, where do I find a 285 kit? I already ride like I'm crazy, why not be completly nuts. I love it when guys on their 450r's try to stay with me in the trails, fall behind and ask later what I'm running. I'm trying to at least slow down their walk in the straights, where everyong makes up the distance. If I can widen the gap once in the open, even better.

Whats the reliability of all the mods? If I rebuild every winter, thats not a big deal. Rebuild after 10-20 hours is an issue. I can easily do 20 hrs in a week.

well i mean its all in how someone maintains their sh*t, me i am very meticulous because i ride mine like a 2 dollar hooker, but when i am done i go through it with a fine tooth comb, and that is why i am still on stock bore, the guy who owned it before me did too, i could tell just by the cleanliness, if it, its 7 yrs old, you will have to google it man, i can't remember the site for it,you can look throught threads on this site but good luck finding it, better off googling, lol I:I

a good rider on a mildly modded blaster can beat on the bigger bikes i n the tight trails ,id rather spank them on the straight long stretches though ,its more fun to see their faces.

haha, i agree, i surprised him one time i had her wound prett damn good and he was cruisin and i just blew past him,lol he had to drop a couple gears to catch me, lol

ya no doubt...it the trees doesnt really matter how much power u have more about the rider. granted ur bikes gotta have some nutz..it isnt a problem

the 660 is ridiculously fast, i've ridden his a few times, lol, he has underestimated the little blaster a couple times, the guy that helped me tune mine runs race bikes, so i don't think i could have learned from anyone better.
maybe one day i will beat the craptor!
