Seen this posted on here a couple days ago and I'm just wondering if it's accurate?

https://www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud_awareness/vincheck

Just got a 2002 blaster and it says it's clean but I'm just wondering if I should believe it or not. Kinda nervous about having local law enforcement checking it out. I mean I got a bill of sale and all but you never know lol

i used it about a year ago, mine wasnt listed either, but i was definately skeptical, especially after i found the bars to be completely full of mud, thru the grips, the dude brought it here from texas, i think he found it floatin down the rio grande ????
there was red mud in places unheard of,
but, lost and found, i guess is better than flat out stolen

did you end up having it checked out by the local law enforcement? It's required around here if you want an APV sticker to ride the trails. I got a bill of sale so I'm covered either way, right?

I contacted The DCNR and had them run the number, they told me it wasn't reported stolen but also wasn't in my bro-in-laws name( who gave it to me), so I had to jump through a few hoops to get it titled and registered. But its all legal now!

i dont fool with places that require all that technical sh*t, i've got "awk mountain" out my back door, and aint stoppin for nobody, they better have been to the
"ricky carmicheal school of motocross" if they plan on catchin me

Most don't register them, But the neighborhood i live in, not to metion all the work and $$$$ I put into it, i would be jacked off if someone stole it and i couldn't get it back because it wasn't in my name.

well if I can't get the apv sticker the areas I have to ride in will be very slim. I don't know why I'm nervous about having it checked. Would be sh*tty if it turned up stolen and they just take it from me lol

If it's clean but never been registered, will I be able to register it and get a title made or no

Here in ND as long as you got a bill of sale that's all you need to get a vehicle titled, But must have a title to obtain the off road licence sticker and almost forgot hiway patrol to verify the vehicle and vin. So if the vehicle vin is clean no problem here.
All I can say is check with dot for rules and regulation on licencing it.

In Ohio, if you have a notarized bill of sale, you can get a title for a a quad. Required to register it with the state and get a little sticker if you plan to ride anywhere but your own property. The sticker also allows you to take it on to secondary roads to get from place to place you're allowed to ride on.
No worries when I bought mine. Bought it from a friend who was the original owner.
Buddy of mine has bought bikes with no title, taken them to the DMV with the bill of sale and got a title same day. They just check to see if the VIN matches

If it's never been registered your good to go- if it has been then the authorities [DCNR] contact the registered owner send them a certified letter and they have two weeks to say they sold it or it's stolen, if no response or and ok to change registration by the one it's registered to in two weeks you get it titled and registered in your name no problems. If they don't respond in two weeks, they retitle it in your name. At least that's how it went for me in PA.
