help quad doesnt run right

hi my friend bought is quad to a lawnmower guy to re tap the drain plug. the guy put straight gas in a empty tank and was riding it. i dont know what he thought he was doing riding it he was just supposed to fix the drain plug. i sifined out the gas and put 14oz in for 3 gal. the reason for the extra oil is cuz their is still prolly gas in it. it doesnt idle and the power band just goes out of control and it makes a clicking or ticking noise after it shuts off for a few secs till the piston stops moving. did he mess it up. how long while running straight gas untill it messis up the piston? do i need a rebuild or just rings?

If it does not have the factory oil injection, it's screwed. Do a proper compression test on it .

Compression test and leak down test asap don,t run it until you done the tests

Not the best but enough to start, now you need to do a leak down test. Hit up slickerthanyou for a tester. I'd probably punch the guy you brought it to in the throat!

100 PSI is not good at all, think the lawnmower man owes you a rebuild. Should be between 130 - 140 PSI.

As stated DON'T run it you'll only do more damage. Are you sure the lawnmower guy did it and not your bud? Have any proof he did? Should be able to collect damages if he did. Don't let L.M. do the work either, obviously he has no clue.

On comp test did you hold throttle wide open and kick (5-10 times) until gauge stops moving. Consider removing exhaust and reeds to inspect piston. Odds are good that you will need piston, new bore, maybe crank. X(

the gas tank was dry when given to him and when got it back it was regular gas. i didnt wot on the comp test should i re do it. i did it on my blaster and got 135psi. bore piston and crang just for riding it without oil in gas for few minutes im guessing. dont know how long he rode it but he said its fast and has balls so i guess he rode it for a bit.

Way I explained it is best way to perform the test. If adaptor isn't same length as plug threads it will read about 5lbs low, no big deal.

Dont add additional oil to the gas that will just lean it out, Mix 32:1

You need to pull pipe off and get a look up the exhaust port to see if the rings or piston suffered any damage.

It will be easy to see, if anything amiss, you need to take it back to the guy that put in straight gas and have a really good talk to him, (in a loud demanding voice).
