Help please??

yes u have to change the gaskets after each rebuild, do not reuse them or there could be an airleak and youll be rebuilding it in another 2 weeks

ya i have the same problem. i choke, and it takes 5-8 kicks to start, then once its warm, it fires one kick, i havent compression tested it, but i suspect it needs a top end. i have to pump the throttle WOT every two kicks just so it starts. could that be jetting? im gonna get a new carb and im rebuilding anyways... just wondering.

IMO, definitely could be jetting. It seems like most people pop in big main jets and just ignore the pilot. But you have to remember that a main doesn't do squat for starting (unless you pin the throttle but you know thats not the way to start it).

In a perfect world, it would start first or second kick. That's what a bigger pilot does for you. More gas for starting and low throttle conditions to offset your higher airflow rate.

I don't want to say 89 is wrong about compression, 2stroke, check it if you have a tester, but he's right about having a bigger main to save your motor (and go faster). I just thought we were talking about starting issues....
