okay my blaster starts sometimes, when it starts it idles for about a minute then just shuts off, when i get it to run as soon as i touch the throttle it wants to shut off, i just changed my plug and my head gasket is brand new i checked it last nite it is good and i torqued the bolts good anyone know what is wrong i would really appreciate it:-/

you still have the tors connected? if so remove it immediately. if not check your carb and clean it all out also clean your airfilter out good or replace it. if all this checks out ok then i would do a compression test and leakdown test to be sure the engine is running ok

stupid question, but is your fuel tap on? sometimes with an old seal, they will start and run with the tap off but die after a while or when you first hit the throttle.

i cleaned my carb and my air filter to try that and i was about to put everything back on and i decided to take my reed cage out ( luckily) and found that one of my boyeson's was missing that should be the problem just hopefully theres nothing else, im ithching to ride!!
buddy that aint real good... are the screws still there? if not you need to tear the top end off and be make sure nothing is in the crank or the top end isnt fried.
no my screws are still there it just broke one reed off right along that metal plate that holds the reeds. usually when they break of like that it makes its way threw the cylinder and gets pushed out of the pipe and shoots out the end. im lucky that my screws were nice and tight
yeah thats just what i was making sure of. be sure to use some blue loctite on those screws when you put a new reed pedals in
mega build... started completely stock its now... a ported 240 big bore with a cfm airbox 35mm pwk carb cr125 boyesen reeds f7 exhaust +4 timing advance running on AVGAS. hd clutch kit, hydro brakes all around. yfz heel guards upgraded rims and tires all around +3 +1 a arms with wp racing shocks up front +4 swinger with pep revalved 250r shock, banshee axle. fully covered skid plates wally lights and im sure im forgetting alot lol
sounds nice man, i traded my 2003 yz 85 for my blasty and it was sh*t when i bought it was alll completely stalk except the reeds ( the ones that broke) and it was just in poor shape and i love blasters so i put 1200 bucks into it lol i started with maxxis razr mx rears and then put a used 400ex shock on the back next i bought my fmf sst gold series pipe with the sst powercore 2 silencer then i bought a 200$ crank case and while i replaced that i also replaced all my bearings and seals and gaskets and also i have a .20 over bore with a wiseco piston and rings its a bueatiful blaster now ill try to post a pic here in a minute.
