help me out here, idk whats going on

a friend has a blaster, we were riding it pretty hard the other day. and next thing you know its smoking like crazy, the pipes leaking what looks like water. well after it cools off enough we start lookin around, theres case oil dripping above the pipe, from a tube that comes from the case. what is this tube and whys it over flowing?

that would be a case vent maybe he over filled the bottom end with gear oil?.

nope we just changed the oil that day, and we filled it to 650ml

well why would it be cm?...it's oil? anythin liquid would be liters right?...idk umm what if it's the oil injector hose?...u know the one that would feed the oil to it to begin with?..maybe whoever took it off didn't block the hose and just wrapped it up there..and somehow it's pushing some kind of oil or something through it?....and or some kinda vent tube like Ron89 said?

1 cc = 1 ml = 1 cm3


Anyway, I had the same thing happen about a month ago. That's definitely a crankcase vent (don't block it), they run the tube up high so you won't get water in the case. As for the why of it, that's harder. When it happened to me I had just changed the oil so I know it was the right amount. I had had it out and was running it hard for about 1/2 hr to an hour and it started blowing out that tube.

It happened twice that day and not once since. I chalked it up to the fact that I had switched oil brands and the residue of the old might have foamed with the new. Just a guess.

Since then I've come to the conclusion that it also drinks oil through the crankseal but it doesn't smoke or seem to hurt performance.
