Hello, debating a blaster or not

Put a blaster engine in it. Simplest 2 stroke engine you can put in it. Air cooled, will just slap right in. Engine swaps arent usually succesful. ATV's/Dirtbikes were designed to run the engines that were designed for them. You can, however, swap a YZ250 dirtbike engine in, with simple welding and modification. Problem is, they vibrate to hell. You'll need to find a way to dampen the vibrations so the frame doesnt crack.

Hello, i am new to the forum looking for advice on a blaster engine swap!

Take the blasty motor out get it ported for your riding style put a +3 or +4 stroker crank in, lightened flywheel,34-35mm carb, nice pipe, upgrade the suspension and you'll have a 30-50HP rocket that will BLAST the other away!

BTW, one member on here little3mil holds the track record on a blasty at Busco beach! Just to give ya an idea of what these are capable of! I:I

Welcome! these guys covered it good. id stick with a blaster motor and get it tricked out. ive heard of the idea of putting a banshee engine in but im sure it would tak modding. make sure to get some good suspension with that motor to!!

Definitly a fun quad! Inexpensive to own and maintain and TONS of aftermarket parts for them. Just like some of the others have mentioned, the stock blaster engine can be modded to make double the stock hp. Spend some time on here and do some research, you may find modding the stock engine easier to reach your goals. And the members here are VERY helpful.

with proper planning you can easily get MORE than twice the stock hp out of these little motors

Why a hybrid ... usually for more power & having something unique. Blaster hybrids aren't that unique, you can find them on craigs list all the time for next to nothing. Usable power is also questionable. A big 4 poke weighs a bunch and defeats the idea of a small, light maneuverable quad ... 2 stroke bike motors like the 250's are tweeky top end motors with a gear set not suited for a quad. If ya want a decent top speed in 5th it will be zoomin along at 10mph at idle in 1st. If ya want a trail bike that will creep through creeks and over rocks & logs in 1st then it will be screemin and going nowhere in 5th. You can't beat the Blaster trans, granny 1st & overdrive 6th.
IMHO ... Build the blaster motor & suspension and have a fun, ride able & reliable quad.
If ya want a monster 2 stroke quad ... get a Zilla ... they're becoming more unique every day and hold their value :)
