ok i have done many heat cycles and now have been driving the blasty around(new stock motor no bore)the question now is do i need to adjust the air/fuel dial under the seat at all or anything on carb?the blasty is 100% stock with uni filter installed..i also know i need to change the oil after break in what else?

under the seat is the idle control and the air screw is on the side of the carb. have you retourqed the head and jug nuts once its all cooled off?

do some searching on here there are some great walk throughs on how to adjust your carb. also learn about how to do a proper plug chop.

The float level must be set correctly, then the idle can be adjusted.

Idle adjusting.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS big screw under seat on top of unit. No TORS brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a fast idle.

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs to allow the motor to respond.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

If you are running a Uni filter, the stock #230 main should be increased 1 or 2 sizes due to less restriction to air flow.

A plug chop should be done to confirm jetting.

when you say adjust air screw so you get fastest idle what do you mean? when i wind mine out it revs on its own? is my idle screw to far in then maybe?

There is a point where the idle will be at its fastest when adjusting the air screw.

Usually about 1 1/2 turns out. Turn the screw both ways, after adjusting the idle screw for a fast idle.

Adjust it incrementally until the fastest idle speed is achieved.

If the screw finalises at about 1/2 or 2 1/2 turns, then either the pilot jet is not passing enough gas or it is too large.
