So when i bought my blaster it came without a headlight and after having to stop riding at only 5 pm because i couldn't see where i was going was getting old. so i made a trip to walmart and decided id just throw these fog lights on and call it good. after looking at it im not so sure that i like them. idk what do you guys think about how they look. are they just too goofy looking? or are they ok? im personally stuck on the border of the two. thanks I:I

Look fine to me. If you wanted to change the shape contour of them, you could always fab up some colored/polished backdrops for behind them or just paint the backings red instead of the current black. How are they working for you?

Well thanks guys. There 55 watters btw, ive been told the stock starter couldnt hadle it but i havent experienced any problems yet. They work just as good if not better than my friends stock headlight, only thing is his turns with the handlebars wich is nice. I also was unalbale to hook them up directly too the headlight switch(due to it being destroyed) so i have a illuminated toggle switch on the right front fender. I dint know how stable these would be becuase of of the blaster shakes stuff toose. But sofar there the most sturdy thing on my blaster lol

55w each is a little much to run them both at the same time on the stock lighting coil.

They dont look bad but personally I would put them together up in front of the bars

what you should do is go to the scrap yard or radio shack and grab a headlight diode and wire it up so you only have one light on low beam and both on high. The just have them on low beam unless you really need them both on.
OR wire one up for low beam and have it angled down, the other wired for high beam and aimed a bit higher.

Stator not starter sorry im using my phone and t9 kicked in lol didnt wanna sound like an idiot. Idk how my right leg would affect the lights XD lol

Yea i wasnt sure about the wattage. I think the stock stator is rated for 55 right? Im not positive that this has the stock one in it. But will these lights burn up that stator?

Yeah the output is 55w-60w. the stock bulb is 45w

you may be able to swap out the bulbs for Xenon 35w bulbs. they draw skightly less the standard halogen bulbs and wont burn up the stator as easily.
for added protection swap out the tail light bulb if you have one with an LED

or look for a pair of LED headlights

Ok yea i was thinking that with a smaller bulb it would be easier to get it at its peak brightness. Is this true or am i understanding it wrong.

in a case where the lighting system can't push enough power yes smaller bulbs drawing less power would as bright or brighter then more powerful bulbs not getting enough power.
xenon bulbs put out more light then halogen and draw less power
find yourself 35w or smaller xenons that fit

FWIW I have dual 35w xenon bulbs in my UFO headlight on my dirtbike and they are bright as hell for night riding off road and YES even street use. Im running a diode so on low beam one is on, on hiu beam both are on. the light is bright enough on low I dont really use high beam much. The last pic shows the diode installed.
all a diode does is allows power to flow one way so if you connect the two + wires from the lights together with a diode between them and hook the grounds together... depending on witch light you put power to only one will come on or both. Simple !

You do not need a Battery for single HID. you only need a battery for a hi/low system. Trail tech has HIO kits that use seperate battery systems or Caps to run them.

actually, i tried the HID on mine it doesnt do anything but flicker for a split second and thats when i rev the motor. HID kit as in ballast and bulb. it does NOT work unless you have a stronger stator IF that. im not a genius but i think the stator pushes out 10 volts max.

I have seen batteryless bikes, snowmobiles use HID kits... true you cant run them as you would your stock bulb but you do not always have to have a battery to run one either. the problem is is the stator can run the system you are using.
For a batteryless system you do need at least a cap and a stator powerful enough to charge it to start the bulb, once they are running they only draw 12v and aprox 35w

the oe stator will push almost 14v thats why they have a regulator.... otherwise you will blow your 12v bulbs. at idle they produce less voltage. if your only getting 10v the regulator or lighting coil are bad

i would not want to go through the PITA to install an HID light... thats why I recommended the 35w xenon bulbs instead. A 35w xenon buld will put out more light then the OE 45w incandescent bulb and draw less power doing so

Yea, I tried the HID kit but like I said it didn't do squat. But rear LED bulb worked. Definitely isn't work doing a conversion for HID. Like u said xenon would work better or LED but LED bulbs are pretty expensive. I think its the best 1 to get for brightness on batteryless plus uses less power

Just put hids on your bike... Like I said in another forum I would just go to there website http://www.rickystator.com/ ... I'm going to be putting a HID on it soon. If you want more power and want to use a battery I would get Rectifier/Regulator from them too http://www.rickystator.com/catalog/p...products_id=88. But you will need the 75w kit. I'm thinking about use a battery like this one http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ac...bZ1z141xg?counter=2&itemIdentifier=62062_0_0_ but they have one that fits under the sit the number is CT4L-BS FP for some reason its not on the website.... And ricky will tell you how to install it , very easy....

Well i figure ive rode the blaster for 11 hours with the lights on sofar and havnt experianced any problems at all. So i figure il just leave them how they are until i run into a problem. And i guess if i do then il learn from my mistake and try something else.
