Head Leaking?

Finally got the quad running and it is slightly leaking from the Head. it is a 240 kit,m new piston ring, crank rod etc etc. i want to break in the new motor before i sell it. it was running fine except for the noise it was miking, originally i thought it was just coming from the exhaust manifold but it beif

Probably need to remove the head, lap the mating surface and get a new gasket on there, torque it down, leak test it, fire it up!

so i need the gasket where the spark plug spins into with the 5 or 6 bolts?

As others mentioned did you retorque? If not, check your torque

Otherwise, you need at minimum gasket, you probably need to lap the mating surface on the head, look it up.

i did not retorque the head i am not aware of the torque specs for this motor. what is the typical torque needed for these types of motors? thanks in advance.

20 ft lb head, 18ft lb jug and plug.

Tighten diagonally, except for the plug.
