If i take this design from mcdizzy will i still be able to use 93oct gas?
What would this improve?
Is there enough clearance? I've got a stock barrel and head to play with
Stephen, I'm assuming that you will follow all the specs from that article 1989 Blaster Engine Rebuild - Two-Stroke Software Review - Part 1 including the cut from the top of the cylinder, 1mm baseplate spacer with extra base gasket, and radical cut to the head. I'm not a machinist myself, but my circa '97 Paul Turner/Duncan Racing head and cylinder are very similar to this setup. It runs great on pump premium gas but I run race 110 because they recommend it for stable (predictable) operation.
The head works great! The hard part is cutting the bowl. I've seen a bunch of machined heads this year where the builder is cutting the chamber by blending angles with a compound. I use special tooling to cut the bowl.
