to all the new guys and those that wanna blow off the leak test take it from me you need it.I admit I knew my way with a wrench some what before. But before joining blaster forum I didn't know about the leak test.Take my advice my blaster was running awesome and the whole time I had an intake gasket leak had I not through blaasters generosity and awks won the Christmas contest and got a leak tester I would be buying a top end.
To those who don't know an air leak will make your bike run lean and eventually blow.So take the time to do a leak test at recommended times.I:I

This is what caused my top end to blow, faulty crank seals.

It ended up costing me a total of $450 to get the top end re-done. I had some piston chunks melted into my exhaust port, so i needed it ported (cleaned, but thats my excuse ;))

good excuse herp but honestly my blasty was running great leak and all I woulda fried it.thank God I fixed it it held 7psi for 15 min no drop at all.gonna try to ride it tomorrow and plug chop

Ohh that thing will rip for a bit with an intake leak. Than ut ohhh! Think of it like blowing on to a fire. The xtra air gets it roaring. Well the same thing happens in your cylinder..I myself didnt know about leak testing and because of this forum i leak tested and also found a small intake leak fortunately in time. There a must for two strokes!!!!

yeah they pull good :D for alittle bit, after it got colder here but no snow yet i jetted my dirt bike for the cooler temps, yeah she pulled good I:I just about flipped it over in 4th gear the first time i rode it in the colder air.

I just finished diallin in the blasty and my summer jetting was so far off because of the intake leak I just fixed that I got a beautiful tan ring with the jets I was using in august

It is very common that those that want to wring as much power from their motor to jet on the lean side.

A 2 stroke motor will perform at its best just on the wrong side of lean, however it is very harmful to the motor.

A small air leak will make the motor perform well and lead you to the impression that all is hunky dory, but the motor really is gradually being destroyed.

A two stroke should be tested for air leaks after any wrenching with the top end and at least twice a riding season.

If you buy a used two stroke, leak test it before you even think of starting it, some peeps often unload a poorly running motor because of an un diagnosed air leak.

I leak test every am. I wake up,drain it all in the bowl to make sure it's still functioning :)
