I plan on doing quite a bit of riding out on the lakes and I will be running the blaster in cold temps. The question I have is what premix oil is the best for mn cold weather. I'm currently running kolts techniplate at 25:1

I'm already one jet up from normal cause I've been riding plug choped and was a little ritch but I'm ok with that. Just not surewhats the best oil I know some seporate from the gas in cold weather. I will be dragging my icefishing gear out as well as riding when the bite is slow to pass time.

Castor Bean oil does not, and I mean does not, like temps below about 4 degs, it will separate out.

Mineral. semi, and synthetic is fine for low temps, no matter what the ratio.

Running an oil ratio of 25:1 is fine providing that the carb is jetted correctly.

X-2 on bean oil. It turns to semi-solid 40-45f. A pre-mix sno-mo oil would also be good choice.

Be aware you can cold seize a fully warmed engine. My son did, WFO 6th gear 0*f. A piece of cardboard in front of engine to block the wind will work.

Who in there right mind would strap cardboard to block wind and snow it wouldnt last at all. And I have never heard of this. I think that statement about blocking is wrong these are air cooled motors and if it needs to I sure as hell wouldn't use a box. Sheet metal tin anything but cardboard.

If you run in extremely cold temps, and run a forged piston, it is possible to cold seize the piston.

Cardboard works well.

cardboard is an excellent insulator, metal will get cold soaked

i've run Maxima Super M in all my blasters, in all temps,
there are 2 different types of super m, injection type and mix, use the correct one for your application.
i do not suggest mixing it in the tank with the techni-crap.
drain your tank before switching oils.
