Alright, I have a 98 blaster with stock gearing, i do alot of very hilly trail riding with it, and I think that if I geared it lower, i could climb hills easier without having to rev the crap out of the engine, what should I do for gears I was thinking 11 or 12 on the front, and I don't know what on the back

Also my blaster is missing the idle adjustment screw, is that anything special, or can I use a regular screw on it? or is there any place i can order that screw from if it is a special thing

THANKS!:D

the idle screw is under the seat, its not there? and a 12 tooth front will give ya some low end you could go bigger in the back too but ur gonna top out at like 40mph lol

Nope, there's no screw, its got that funky looking deal on top of the carb, I see where the screw should go (I got the manual with it when I bought it), its just not there

Ask around on the site, someone may have a spare, if not, go to your local yamaha dealer, they will have one ordered in for ya. In regards to the gearing, i run 14/40 and doing some huge hill climbs, just take speed into it, i never have to get out of 2nd, and first gets me anywhere i want. i personally wouldn't downgrade, but some people on hear have 12 tooth. just my 2 cents

I've run 13/42 before and that is almost as low as 12/40. It wasn't as slow as Noober suggested but it does put the gears a bit close together. Also, you might find yourself taking off in 2nd on flats. 1st would be a hillcimbing MF, tho.

PM me, maybe we can work something out on the stock tors box or screw.
