I have spare parts and will soon have allot more parts to build a 2nd blaster.
I'm not sure what year this gas tank cover came off of. but it's got to be from one of the early models of the blasters.
So this is a DIY, sand, prep and paint, the right way.
Here it is, I washed it wish soap and water. even after that it was just nasty.
Now, before I took these first two photos. I had already started doing some sanding.
Who whole tank cover was nasty.
sanding. starting off with 400 grit, wetsand.
Then I went to 600 grit and then 1,000 grit and 2,000 grit wet sand.
Now, I then went to, micro mesh special sand paper. 6000,8000,12,000 grit.
I am hoping in the pohots, you could see the finish improve and get better and shinier.
Now, painting time.
