Hi guys so i bought hydro brakes recently. i have them mostly assembled apart from the front left caliper(when sitting on quad.) as the piston is too far out. also once i get this caliper on and i bleed brakes will the new pads fit no problem? just the new ones i can only get one in and there is no room left for the other pad.

thanks guys I:I

is the piston in the whole way ?
what spindles are these on ?
some require a washer to space it correctly centered on the disc

im not sure if piston is all the way but i can't push it with hands or pry it back with a screw driver. there the spindles that came with them so 2003 spindles.

you prolly have it jammed sideways, you must push evenly for it to compress completely

fluid pressure could cause that too...is the line off or bleeder/ rezzie lid open

ah :) and i had the bleeder off but the rezzie lid isn't. be coming off tomorrow anyway as the screws as chewed up. but got told on here to drill the head of them and get vice grips on the threads. im not familiar with hydro brakes as only ever owned bikes and quads with drum brakes lol. gonna see how much i have from birthday money next month mate as i will need to use tracks as the quarry we were using is shut so need to get a brake off you as won't let me on without one. selling parts i have of quad and other bikes but il see next month! :)

if the bleeder was off, it wasn't backpressure keeping it from pushing in, carefully try to get it back out and start over, keeping even pressure,
or....
an old brake pad in there against the piston and a small c-clamp to compress it works great

sweet thanks man :) will try it tomorrow :D was gonna do it tonight but my light in garage packed in so couldn't see lol

sometimes they can be a nightmare to push in, other times they go in a breeze, try keep the piston going in true, and beware that the excess fluid will come out the top ressie. not good stuff to get on paintwork. :)
