Hey Gang..

Well I want to ride my bike this year.. I have done frame up resto's on trikes mostly 200X and 350X models.. usually leads to bearings seals... paint parts.. lots of $$$..

Well like I said I want to ride mine the frame looks like crap in some areas.. In the future I want to re-paint the whole thing or powdercoat.. right now I want to clean it up

Question.

1990 Blaster frame is silver I think? Anyone know what spray bomb is fiarly close in colour to factory I can get? to get some of the bad bad wear spots cleaned up on it? let me know please.
working on cleaning it up before warm weather!
thanks
Dan

BUMP BUMP.. lol

Common someone must know? I know its not the best route to go and I should do the whole frame.. but its just a clean up for now..

I was thinking maybe getting a sponge brush and finding some silver? But I always have issues matching ..

anyone please?

I know that at my local API (paint/bodywork supplies) they have a machine that you can take a part or piece there, they put it into the machine and it will find the closest color to the part that they sell. My dad took parts from his motorcycle there, they put it in the machine and the color was almost dead on. That's about all the help that I can give you though.

I thought of that only issue is.. lol the only thing that matches the frame is the swing arm..... no small peices I can take off to match it.. I tried a few spray bombs but nothing was close enough for me ..

I guess I will experiment... maybe I can take a close of shot with my camera and get it matched that way?

NICE IDEA!~ Never even thought of that... Now there is no Yamaha dealers around here but I dont mind travelling to get it lol ...
Going to look up the nearest one and call em!

Thanks bro big time! GOOD IDEA right there!

WTF? lol.. someone hitting the pipe? This guy says Banned? I take it he was removed from the site..

On a on TOPIC NOTE!!!!

I tried Yamaha... well the one I can get to... still pretty far.. They say they do not carry paints at all :( Which sucks big time.. I took my front bumper off though... I might just clean up the bad wear spots with a wire wheel.. degrease and hit it with rust coat with a brush... take the front bumper in and get it colour matched?

anyting think this is supid? I meant I am sure I will repaint the frame but not for a while.. I love this thing and want to ride it ... not replace a wack of stuff because I tore it apart...
seems to happen to me on the hondas anyways :P...lol

True enough, But appearance for me is big.. I mean I am not a total spazz on having it perfect. But I like the looks of a clean nice looking ride.

Mine hopefully someday will look nice and clean!
:P
