I was thinking of getting my frame gusseted. I have cracked a couple of the stock welds before, and with my new mods i don't want to completely tear it apart. how much should this service run? I was going to buy a kit of the pieces to gusset off of egay for 90 bucks and pay someone to weld it. just looking for a good price for the work I don't want to go somewhere and get ripped bc i am clueless.

spend some money and get a cheap(er) welder and learn how, if the weld breaks do it over . one can be had for 200 bucks, my neighbor went to a tool supply company here in mass and got a wire feed welder for under 300.

do you guys know what all areas need to be gussetted? we did my frame but we did just about every area that could be done because i didnt know where the weak points were. i may start making sets that just need to be welded in and hooking up the members of this site

$90 for a gusset kit???????? we are taking a couple bucks in metal and a little fitting

I know guys, sounds queer but I have no welder or stuff to cut and shape metal. if i can buy the kit and holeshot comes through with that offer it sounds like a pretty awesome deal. making this stuff with a jig saw, angle grinder and belt sander would take me quite some time. plus comming up with all the shapes to cut them in. I am a carpenter not a metal worker. I would love to learn but just don't have the extra time and money to invest.

I agree bro.I have a bought kit and a home made kit. Both work well but my bought kit looks sweet as hell. The detail in them looks awesome. There should be atleast 11 pieces in the gusset kit to do all the proper points.11 is good but I like 13 pieces to be honest.

Me and my 8yr old made my gusset kit. We took a cardboard box and a good pair of scissors out to the shapes and voila! You can shape them any way you want. Here is my set.
