i posted an ad on craiglist and found this blaster. i was able to pick it up yesterday about 40 min drive from the house. he only wanted a couple hundred bucks for it so i figured i would go take a look at it. It came with a rusty lookin toomy exhaust and a blown up motor. luckily the cases, tires, and brakes seem to be in good shape. i am buying a crank from sicivic and possibly putting the spare 240 topend i have on the bike. here are a couple pics for now.

its an 02, but no longrod build for this bike. its a budged build! the shee will be getting some love next time i come home for sure! does look like its been stored outside but a little tlc and it will be a decent bike i hope...

i was thinking of putting this in full rebuilds but im not going to change out EVERYTHING so its not a full rebuild... mainly the motor and possibly a 400 rear shock along with plastics and the handlebars gotta go.. i cant wait to clean that pipe up, i hope it shines when i get done with the wire brush

nice find, sucks the toomey got rusty but if you want a good unscratched finish go for the green scotch brite pads and some CLR to remove rust. and a good wet polish after to bring out the shine.

oh and did you say you posted on craigslist looking for a blaster or did you catch one of them "Im cleaning my garage and this is taking up to much space, I dont know whats wrong but im sick of trying to figure it out." kind of buys

im going to hit it with a wire wheel first to see how it turns out. i posted an ad looking for a broke down banshee/blaster and if they wanted help i could fix it or just buy it.

Not a bad idea. I have thought about doing the same thing lately. Even if you resell it dirt cheap, it's still very profitable for a couple days worth of work.

i found some time to do a little home porting. nothing major or perfect but was fun to play around with.
