Fmf sst exhaust

Well the quads up and running with the sst and sounds very deep but has the 2 stroke raspy sound i like it.

I havent rode it just heat cycling it in the garage but it sounds mean as hell.

Ill let everyone know what i think when the weather improves and i get it tuned.

Im still going to get the dyno port but not for a little while.
 
Do what i did to my fatty and bolt it all up and then scribe both the flange and pipe then pull it all back off and weld it up then reinstall.

Thats a slip joint and it should not leak youre asking for issues if its leaking at the head.

It takes longer to put on and pull off thsn it does to run a bead with the mig turned down low and then you dont have all the hassles.
 
It is the same thing . factory fatty is not chrome it has a factory finish.The third chart is the fatty and sst . I hope you have the loops on there so you can put on the spring.... The pipe needs play in that area you was showing in the picture... It lets out a lot of back pressure and heat with the help of the spring but try not to stay in a river cause water gets in there if you do...lol
 
You can also change the packing...the white stuff is good , i just got the yellow stuff but I see they make red which I guess is the best packing
 
Looking at the charts the fatty hits harder and carries it on top longer than the sst, which drops off. Also they are not suppose to leak at the flange. It effects the scavaging and effects power. There are alot of pipes that run o rings to insure they dont leak. Also some that are solid and have no removable flange. The flange is to make it easier to put on.

nope theres no loop for the spring or nothing. maybe i can rig it somehow. i dont have access to a torch or welder. is it a MUST that i have that spring on there? i dont ride in water or ponds or what not or anywhere for that matter. (i live in a city)
 
link is for the fatty. but again whats the point of the spring? just to hold the header to that big peace that bolts up? u guys gave me two opposite advices. that its SUPPOSED to leak, then sum1 else said it ISNT. o_O ??
 
The sst is a lot better on top end [ IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ] <fatty [IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII] sst see the bars in the first pic...... it is supposed to breath a little threw there but not all the time. after a long rev it will open open to let out back pressure and heat.

I suggest you look into the operations of a two stroke before you ruin yours or someone elses with the advice youre giving.

i guess ima blow my top end.. lol.. idk where to get this fix and i sure aint gonna take it to a shop. they'll prolly charge me like a thousand for that lol! i think i have an idea..order the stupid flange, when it comes in i can hit up a hardware store, get 2 loop thingy, take off my header, and that other piece that bolts to the head, take it to a garage and offer to pay them a few bucks to weld those 2 stupid little washers or w/e im getting on and call it a day. would that make a good plan? ok wait a min.. is there a SPECIAL place to put the loops at?? FML and where am i supposed to get this flange at? dont think FMF even sell that separately. cheap bastards
