Fmf Pipe help!!!

just buy single main jets i just got 3 of them for 3 dollars a piece at a dealer. ask for older style mikuni hex jets. dont buy a kit they are overpriced
 
No. You cant bore out to 240 you have to buy a kit. And if you do that you will need a bigger carb. Just go to the dealer and buy a 270. 280. 290. And 300 and some new plugs and do some plug chops to c what is best. But with these jets dont run a airbox lid. Although i would recommend a precharger for that kn filter
 
Ok guys so i got the k&n filter and i installed it should i run it now with or without the lid???
 
IDK if the shop was rippn u or just was tryin to help to the best of their exp. with ur build.Lid OFF always. I would suggest a k& n recharge kit and an outerwear. the k&n will outlast the uni because its washable/reusable ( so is the uni) but the uni foam will deteriate over time with heat/ elements. DONT EVER CLEAN A K&N WITH COMPRESSED AIR!!!!! IT DESROYS IT! USE THE RECHARGE KIT AND WARM WATER ONLY!!!! Use some grease under the seal to get a dust tight seal. I loved my k& n but i would recharge it often without a pre filter (in the sand ) every few days. I think the outerwears have a 127 micron mesh. you can buy 105-150 micron mesh aquarium filter bags for pennys and make ur own off ebay!!! I thought of swiss cheesin the air box and bonding this mesh over the holes!!! the pipe can be kinda tricky to get in the frame. start with the point first under the left fender and the flange side down under . then curve the point in toward s the back. I'll post some pics for u if u need.
 
Different jet companies have different size scales it all confusing but somewhere there is a crossreference table. most suggest to start big and work ur way down. Im going to be in the same boat w ya soon. . . . oh the joy of jetting
 
im also having a jetting problem, i even started a thread. i bought a dyno jetkit today and slapped in the 350 main. for mods i have full FMF turbine core2, Vforce2 and k&n air no lid. its pretty cold here in RI. (sea level) im trying to figure out what is the best jet to use. i really cant afford to buy a bunch of plugs and do chop tests so im trying to avoid wasting $ im hearing270,280, 290? i have the 350 and its too rich. i only have the 340 to try next if its still too rich then back to my 230
