flooding

No I'm not sure if its fouled, I just changed the oil, and yesterday I cleaned the carb, haven't tryed to start it scince before I cleaned the float needle, I just smelt the exhaust and it smelled like gas, also there is a red and yellow or maybe white wire by the carb that seems to be unplugged, I don't remember if it was like that before but its near the carb and I could see how I could have accidently unplugged it, I didn't want to plug it in and have it fry some electrical.. and also it dosent have a brake light. Was thinking that's what the wire was for..

im no pro at electrical so i wont comment on that, put in a new plug just to be safe, make sure its gapped at .30 also make sure float is 21mm make sure nothing is clogging the airfilter, that will cause it to not start plus flood it...is this the first time you have ever tried to start it??

I live in ravensdale, about 25 min from covington. And I figured it out!! :) I got ballsy and decided to plug in that wire and it started on the first kick!! Seems like my carb clean paid off, and oddly enough the yamaha lube quieted it down a bit, now I have to drain the 50:1 mix and put in some fresh yamalube 32:1 ! Then I can finnally get after it and pull some epic wheelies!. Have you flipped your front wheels? And if you did were the valve stems in the way? Ps. Thanks for the Info!!

i have and no the valve stems were fine if you have the drum brakes, but i dont like them flipped it looks wierd, and nice i ride in ravensdale sometimesI:I also just curious what are all the parts you got on your bike or is it stock?? and whats your main jet??

I'm noy sure about the main jet, I know it's got wiesco piston and top end goodies, other than that it seems stock, its bored 30 over and some sort of newer aftermarket seat, stock air box and carb. I've only had it about a week now, maybe 3 hrs ride time on the new top end. And yeah there are lots of trails out here, I am in heaven! :)

If you change from 50:1 to 32:1 there will be less fuel in the pre-mix, so the air fuel ratio will be gas lean..

More oil = less gas = lean mix.

If the motor has been jetted correctly for 50:1 then you need at least one size bigger main jet, if you change to 32:1.

Plug chop to confirm.

I'm not sure what its jetted to, id assume its stock, it had about a half tank of premix allready in it so I topped it off with about a gal of premix for my sthil blower, with the blower I ad 1 small jugg of sthill premix oil to two gallons of fuel.. the bottle dosent say what the ratio is. So I'm geussing 50:1 idk really so that plus whatever was in there should balance out to about 41:1 I think. Like I said I got it a week ago, and don't know much, pipe is stock carb looks stock and the air box is also stock with no drilled holes.. I do t want to blow it up nor do I want to mess with the jets, it runs really good!

yes but lack of checking things and maintnence will blow it up, im not telling you to do anything but if it were mine, drain out the tank of gas, check what main jet is in, mix up a fresh batch of 32:1, witch is 1 pint of 2 stroke oil with 4 gallons of unleaded fuel. then use that so your sure. if you have never did a leak down i would recomend that to be sure also. everyone on here will say there oil is the best but, i really like spectro, yamalube is good also. dont use leafblower or weedwacker oil that will blow it up.

^^^ I agree DO NOT run any type of oil other then a good 2 stroke oil designated for 2 strokes only. And your spark plug should be a b8es and it should be gapped at .7 - .8 mm not .3

Ill stay out of the premix ratio discussion cause I personally like to mix at 40-1 and 90% of the guys on here wanna crusify me for not mixing 32-1 like them haha. Again like 89blaster89 mentioned if your having any flooding problems you should check that your float height is 20 - 21.5 mm. Conrats on becoming a fellow blaster owner !

i used to run 40:1 and it was fine, i only run 32:1 now since its easier to just mix 1 pint of oil with 4 gallons of gas...

We must have contradicting manuals cause mine says .7 - .8 haha. Let's start a poll so we can figure out which one is right cause obviously one of us is gapping our plugs wrong !

Lol, sorry haven't got to check this for a while, so the main jet is the one in the middle when you take the bowl off right? Its also the one the needle slides into? I will drain that mix before my next rise,. And I bought it from the owner of a dirtbike shop, id hope he would have set it up to par.. what size should the main jet be for 32:1 ?
