float level

dripping fuel is a sign of out of spec floats,
and i dont think you'd see the crack, they use to make a float scale, < commonly used by marijuana dealers, car mechanics would weigh the floats against a known float weight for certain carbs to see if fuel had seeped into it

i have a postal scale, what is weight supposed to be? also if gas was in float wouldnt i be able to tell when i inspected float for crack(visual and i shook it to see if gas in it)

no known weight that i know of, but if you inspected it and shook it you should be good, i'd start lookin elsewhere, coil, sdi, switches, grounds ???? reeds ????

i know nothing about the electrical on the blaster, i have gone through and cleaned all plugs, what do i look for and how do i check coil, cdi etc....?? reeds are fine

i'm having "no spark" issues on my sons, i tried using an ohm meter on everything, they all ohm to specs, stator and coil, swapped the cdi into my bike, fired right up???
gonna swap everything one at a time when my bike gets home from busco,
electrical sucks !!!!! swappin parts seems easier to me

times are tough dont realy have the cash to start swapping parts, if i do find out whats wrong with it, gona take some shuffling to afford that, im to the point if i had the money id take it to the shop

I've had floats crack and sink when we ran motorcycle carbs on our race cars as a kid. They usually sink all the way and fuel runs out of carb big time. You can shake them and you should hear fuel splash around also.

alas....there is another way, take off the drain tube, attach a longer clear one that will sweep upwards right beside the carb bowl, at least to the cap, open the drain, and it should equalize out and show exactly how much fuel is in the bowl
but you'll still need to open it to adjust, then the measurement would be better

This is a very good method to check your float/fuel level. Try it and maybe you will find that you don't need to adjust your float. The drain tube AWK is talikng about is the one on the very bottom of the float bowl, it is also the overflow tube. You can do this in place or holding the carb upright in your hand. Hold the clear tube next to the bowl and turn the screw next to the drain tube counter-clockwise, this opens the drain valve. With the carb still hooked to the tank, look at the level of fuel in the clear tube. It should be a little, 1-2 mm, ABOVE the float bowl gasket surface. If not, you will need to adjust the float.

/\/\/\/\ thanx royal for confirming that method, i've read about it, but never try'd it
