Fliiping front wheels?

maybe im missing something. why would you need to drill a new hole and install a new stem?
the tire will now have 2 valve stems?
and valve stems are put in from the inside of the rim, not the outside. so if im understanding this correctly, you will dismount the wheel... drill a new valve hole... break the bead of the tire... install a new short valve stem... and inflate the tire and install ??

isnt adding up as to why one would go through all that trouble :(

it makes the front end alot wider is why its done. and yes what i did was take the tire off the rim remove the original valve stem and turn it insid eout so now its essentially just a plug then drill a new hole on the correct side of the rim and relocate the valve stem there. with hydro fronts the valve stem will hit the caliper so its either do this, buy expensive flush mount stems or not flip em.

i very well know that it makes it wider... just was wondering why not take out the old valve stem and replace it with a shorty. theyre really not that expensive as you say... a few bucks if that. plus, id rather spend the money than have another hole in my rim that may leak.

eh, to each thier own i suppose. i had regulars on hand that night no shorties so thats how i roll haha. and its been over a year now with zero leaks I:I

and also with the shorties you will still hae a valve stem thats a pain in the ass to get to, i forgot that part lol :D

its just on the inside of the rim.... really not that difficult to get to, just cut the wheels to the right or left.... easy peasy.

but eh, to each their own i guess.
