I would say go up 1 jet size
You bet your sweet bippy!awk I kinda see a ring kinda high and very light x2 on the 2 sizes better to be a bit rich than a bit lean
Well that's good to know. Did you run a 30 pilot as well? You had all the same mods? I'm running a CFM airbox.i ran a 330 with LRD no airbox and all that stuff
Did you ever glance at the plug?I'm gonna start there. It's funny because when I rebuilt the motor I had a 330 in the carb. The 30 pilot made a huge difference. My a/s is perfect now.i had mods close to yours. uni pod filter on the carb and no box though.
i didnt change the pilot jet. i never actually plug chopped with it (sshhh)
i sold it for a DMC. IMO dmc is better. but i had porting and a small carb for low end power, so it was a monster with the low end pipe.
Colder/lower than Florida? Haha. But I do agree. If I keep it there you think I'll be harming anything? If I go up it will be a 340.That plug to me is one jet size small.
You could go up one size without loosing power, and have the added protection if you ride at slightly colder/lower.
If the engine does not falter with the larger jet keep it?
Thanks Blaaster for the help. I'm gonna go up one and see how it goes.It is only my preference, what you got looks good, one size bigger to me would be better.
I am an avid believer in jetting on the rich side.
Just say for instance you jet at the edge and you develop a small leak at the header, that leak will throw you to the lean side.
Jet bigger, that leak may just be masked enough to save a piston.
Unless your are chasing the podium, and are happy to ride with the pack, jet on the rich side!
