I deleted several of the posts on this thread... Keep it related and stop the bashing or it will be locked, and infractions will be handed out.

looks like a good excuse to re-engineer the mount for long travel...

From looking at the mount it appears as though there wasn't much engineering done in the first place. The shock mount looks too thin to be used in a high stress area. Can't comment on the weld since it's not visible in the picture.

Damn bro- you could of gotten messed up, hopefully ya didn't.

Ok YB get to welding! Your bro needs ya!!

yea i should have used some decent angle iron. and i am going to play around with the long travel mounts. my welding isnt the greatest thats why i dont weld other ppls stuff. i should have turned up the welder it didnt seem to penetrate into the cross bar. it coulda and shoulda been worse but made it out alive and for the most part one piece. i still got one stock swinger to play with i wanted to save it for a +6 but awell.

Definitely use some thicker material for the mount next time around. Good thing that didn't happen on a front shock mount, that would have been really bad.

Hey I think you have a problem there, haha. I think I would be more pissed about breaking the shock than the swinger ,haha. Keep us updated on the rebuild, and I'm in agreement, its time to redo for a long travel set up.

yea the shock was a whole 30 bucks and it was a little too stiff i felt. and the adpter bushings held up even with that much shock of that landing. this whole quad is prety much R&D. i'm planing on geting a 03 rolling chassis to build off of and send my moter to ken at the same time build up the new frame.

yea it gives me a reason to go to a 450r shock now. now that school is starting again that high school shop will be open again and i can get a good MIG welder to use and i'm going to angle iron this time like i should have. i have a buddy at the school that can weld like a robot. i havent seen any of his welds break and they look beautiful. and gives me a reason to take some welding classes lol.
