I just did my first plug chop after installing an oil injection block off kit. My plug looks different from all of the other pics that have been uploaded in regards to plug chops. I was wondering if I did it right and if anyone can tell if i need to rejet or not. I know this topic is redundant but any input would be appreciated.

What is your mods and current jetting? Elevation? Air tight motor? Float height correct? Going to need some more info to get you close.

I live in Missouri the map shows between 500-1000 feet depending on were I ride. The atv is 0.20 over with oem components (from when the oil line came off and seized the piston), a decked head, UNI filter with a stock airbox w/lid and snorkel, FMF Fatty header with a power coreII silencer, boysen reeds in a stock cage, currently has all stock jetting. I started premixing 40:1 with Belray MC1 with a 50/50 mix of high octane fuel and premium pump gas. I know the race gas isnt needed but I had to use some in pinch when I ran out and i just love the way it keeps the carb clean and it smells good to. Thanks guys!

To much water in the trails I ride to take the lid off, from what I've read the jetting seam lean to me also but that's the way it came when I bought the bike brand new and never had problem till the oil line came off because I guess I didn't push it on all the way and it blew up. I only started wondering about jetting after I switched to premix. If the plug looks rich with stock jetting how come I should put a bigger main in it? It also came with the pipe and filter new.

Your right man it says to use a BR8ES. Whats the difference between a "s" and "g" spark plug?

I am no means a plug Guru but I think the G plug has a finer diameter electrode, which will dissipate more heat into the porcelain making it look black.

You must use an S plug to get a good indication from a plug chop.

The bike ran great yesterday when I rode it to do the plug chop. I'll pick up a BR8ES plug try it again and post some pics so everyone can get a better judgment. Sorry for the nonstop questions but I'm a beginner when it comes to the jetting and I know the consequences of having it wrong.

Do not apologise for asking questions, that is a great way to learn.

You should be around a #280 main with your mods.

Float level should 20 to 21.5mm on a stock carby.

you want to turn the carb and hold it on a slight angle to measure the float height, like shown here......

it should just barely be touching the inner needle, not depressing it,

It is possible to check the fuel level by attaching a length of clear plastic tubing to the drain nipple , lifting it up the side of the carby, and cracking the drain screw.

The fuel should show in the pipe to the level of the carb body above the float bowl gasket.
