well hi everyone i am 19 years old and i bought my 1993 blaster which is my first quad about a month ago and man am i glad i bought it haha.
ive had so much fun on this thing.
so far i have broken 2 things my drive sprocket (theres a topic about it somewere haha) and i have also broken my clutch cable which was odd haha.
i think my only complaint about my blaster is that the breaks kinda suck i pull really hard and it feels like its only giving me like half of what should be there what you guys think the deal is there?
i even kinda like working on it its alot of fun and i hope it lasts me a few years at least.
i am really looking forward to winter i cant wait to drive it in the snow how do these things do in the snow i have some spidertrac rear tires.
well im looking forward to putting up some sweet pics of were i ride and how i ride.
well thats about it.

P.S. I KNOW MY QUADS COLOR IS REDISH BLUE.

Reddish + Blue = Purple ! !I:I

Haha.. welcome to the boards. Where have you been riding your quad? We are from Linwood area so not too far from you.

The brakes are kind of lousy on these things ,but there are a few things you can do to improve them. This forum is filled with GREAT advice from some really smart people who are more than willing to pass on information to help out a fellow rider.

Enjoy your quad man. Sounds like you are having a good time already. With a little care and some basic maintenance your quad should last you quite a while.

hmm yeah i live in skidway but pretty much alger.
i usually go riding around were i live but one of these days i would like to go check out st. helen trails i heard there pretty good.
haha weres linwood by the way??

Linwood is just south of Pinconning about 10 miles... Skidway is probably 40 mins from us. St. helens trails is a great system. you can go from there to other loops such as Rose City, and beyond. We got here regularly, and always have a great time. You live close to several trailheads which any of them will be a great time ! !

ok you live closer then i thought.
yeah i want me and my friends to go threw the St. helen trails on my b-day so it should be fun.

i was curious how do blasters ride in the snow, you know how much snow we get so like whats the deepest stuff they can go in i have spidertrac rear tires by the way.

No idea.. We just got our Blasters this spring. we plan on trying out the sand paddles this winter though... That should be fun.

yeah i was thinkin about getting paddles for the winter i found some on ebay 2 for $100 idk if thats a good price or not but i think it is..

those tires are kinda huge on there. see if you can find youself a good set of 20 inch tires to go on there.

as far as snow is concerned, all you really need to be careful about is overheating. the additional drag of the snow and increased RPM will make it overheat pretty easily because you cant get as much speed as normal.

as for your brakes, there are a few diffrent kits on the market that will help you. the absolute best thing you can do is find some used 03+ brakes, brake lines, master cylinder, and front hubs with disk rotors on them and upgrade to the full hydraulic setup that is now stock. look on ebay, you can find it all for a decent price. you can even find the rear brake parts if you look around on there. dont expect your stock rear brake to last very long if you ride in mud at all.
