SMS +5+1 Long Travel A Arms
+5_+1_SMS_LT_a_arms.jpg
Snyder Motorsports Yamaha blaster +5 wide +1 forward Long Travel A Arms. This kit uses 16 inch length shocks we can sell you "Elka" shocks for this setup. This kit is most known for the serious MX or Flat Track racer. You have to run 4 on 1 offset rims to make your total width 49 1/4 inches wide, legal for AMA use. The 4 on 1 offset rims help correct the grometry and reduce bump steer. Theese arms are as good as it gets for MX it will soak up the bumps like a 450. The kit includes Frap ball joints, chromoly tie rods, and urathane bushings. The ball joints are a direct replacements. You do not have to drill the spindle or anything like that, they bolt right up. The bushings that come with the kit are made from urathane and have a one year warranty. The A Arms are made from 4130 chromoly tube and are tig welded. It comes in black powder coat.

I currently have American Star Long Shock A-Arms which are better?

I don't think there is "one" manufacturer thats superior to all the others. Yeah, the +5+1 snyder's look nice but you've also got to buy the offset rims for them. As for the asr a-arm's there suppose to have a guarantee with them, if you bend or break one, they'll replace it. Thats got to be worth something, especially in this day and age. I got my a-arms for two reason's. 1, they looked cool and 2, they were cheap.

never seen them...but theoreticly, the longer the arm the more travel possible. did notice one discrepency with the ad though.. rim offset does not effect bumpsteer. longer arms and the same travel numbers as smaller arms will decrease bumpster though as there is less angle change. idealy to determine front wheel offset, by drawing an imaginary line through the center of the balljoints, that line should hit the ground in the center of the tires contact patch.

I like SMS and have bought many products from them but for long-travel a-arms. Go for the Hermann Racing set-up.
Yamaha Blaster A-arms

King-pins- not balljoints...
also you can run a 183/4" -19" shock
best offered on the market right now, blaster long travel suspension is a dying market.
