Am i missing something ?I was looking at my a arms and thinking,It should not be hard to make my own a arms that use replaceable ball joints.Maybe even doing them +3.:-/

its not hard im in the process of making mine, mine are made for my long travel design 12 and a half inches. but no it is not hard if u know what your doing, make a jig for top jig for bottom and have a lathe, im using 120 wall so its strong and i can get good penitration cause i dont have to use thin to thick metal, where the berings go in the have to be takin to the lathe with a 120 wall but thats ok for me, im gonna be selling a whole front end kit soon to bolt on that will be the same as mine just u have to send me yur frame to mod the top shock mount hehe. giver a try its only gonna cost about 30 bucks in metal whatever u use for a jig and what ever yur welder uses on electricity lol

techically, they are pretty simple, a little bit of geometry to get the balljoints clocked right and the best shock mount location, after that they are easy to jig. Practically, a lot more difficult. everything neds to fit tight before welding and you need to be a damn good tig welder. A swingarm, you can fill little gaps welding, mig weld it, screw up a weld, grind it out and reweld etc... you just don't have that amount of foregiveness with a-arms. I have been in Laegers shop when he is making custom a-arms, the guy is amazing, has the bend radiuses in his head, fits stuff together without thinking about it and can lay incredible tig welds with his eyes closed.

Anyone thought of using hiem joints instead of ball joints? Just curious if anyone has done, or heard of anyone doing this. Kinda had plans to try to come up with something to use them.

there are companies that use heim joints. then there's a piece that fits inside the joint that's tapered like the shaft on a ball joint
