i was messing around in the shop today and i found the old a-arms from a 97 parts blaster. i had the idea of extending them by cutting them square in the middle of each two shafts on the a-arm, then put a 2-4 inch section of pipe between the cuts and and use smaller diameter pipe inside that the length of the shaft, then TIG weld it up. i think it would work, then just measure what ever shock you are gonna use to make your lower shock mounts. it might be a lil heavy because of the inner pipe bracing, but im gonna try it since i have a extra set laying around! i will post pics soon.

EPIC FAIL....j/k...we did a mod like this to my sons lil 90 quad. worked great...he wasnt heavy and didnt really launch it though..make sure i put the pipe inside so outter slides together..the welder up..big jumps i dunno if i would trust it though...u can but burgard +2 for 400 shipped...dont forget u will have to have tire rods also....

im already doing this im doing yfz 450 shocks conversion.. its really easy i made a jig and everything. make sure you do adjustalble ball joints.. good luck with yours..

ya, theres a lot of variables to consider, but strength is not one of them, my welds have held more weight and pressure than this trail bike will see. besides i was gonna weld plate gussests top and bottom. i dont really hit anything over ten to fifteen feet anyways. some hill climbs, occasional dune trips, but mostly trail riding. if i encounter any geometric issues, nothing a torch and hammer cant fix. i think it should work fine. if it does, it would totally be worth the labor to gain +2 on stock a arms. i will keep stuff posted.

hey were did you say to can get the bugaurd +2 again. is there any where i can get a arms that are extend but pusshed up as well to extend the wheel base any

well im not saying your welds wont be good im saying that when u have to bend the pieces to fit they will be weaken from the pressure, so reinforcement will be needed most likely.
