So i was doing a walk around this morning on the Blasty and noticed when i hit the throttle that smoke came out just a little bit where the pipe is connected to the motor. :(

I assume this is not normal and im pretty sure that its just a matter of tightening some bolts but i just wanted to make sure that the effin $60 an hour i paid for someone to put that exhaust on wasnt a waste of money and possibly i have something else wrong other then that?

Sad that i didnt know any better and paid that much money when i could have come here and got the EXACT information i needed down to the T from a bunch of guys that do it for the love of the game I:I

why would you pay someone $60 to do what takes 10 minutes...... and he probably didnt put in any kind of gasket ( and yes they make an exhaust gasket i dont remember the name) i have taken off my exhaust soo many times its really easy next time just ask how its done or look in the DIY section dunno if someone put how to do it in there.. its all a matter of finding a way of getting hte spring off ( my rusty one broke and you wanna buy another spring from a dealer and make sure its NOT a garage door spring) haha i found out the hard way, and also the gasket is like $1 or 2 i forget but its cheap and it helps prevent that smoke that you are getting. but for the easiest way to see if it helps tighten the flange screws.

Even if it is leaking a bit its not that big of a deal. Mine does it and I have a gasket there....Its not like a car where and exhaust leak can cause a major problem.

thats what i thought fellas thanks I:II:I and yea i paid the money at a real dealership thinking they would fix the quad and i could ride finally after 6 months of waiting.

They highly dissapointed. :( Think its sad that neither place even checked the air filter on it in the combined 5 months they had the thing

But now thanks to you guys and a buddy of mine that actually worked at a dealership i have much help to get problems taken care of for a lot cheaper I:I

its fine.... it will leak oil out of there to....
i have tried everything to get it to stop..... oh well

Mine leaks not on the block, but where the pipe hooks to the flange on my brand new pipe! I have a gasket and put high temp seal on it. Finally put some high temp tape on it for it to stop. An exhaust side leak wont hurt maybe take a little power if anything.

Yea i had the same problem.I just pushed a bunch of Permatex® Ultra Copper down in the flange where the pipe slides down inside and it fixed it

you can burn up a piston with a leak at the cyl. if its dusty you can suck sand in there too, get a new crush gasket every time you disassemble your flange and use 100% silicone where the pipe goes into the flange you want that air tight!

Yeah mine did that too. I got a new gasket from yamaha and put in there and it worked but its doing it again so Im gonna work some copper rtv on it.
