So, i've been browsing ebay and seeing all the various 2 stroke engines there.. got me to wondering what motor swaps have been done to these? Post up what you have seen and know about....
BTW... CR500 engines would probably fit with little modifications...I:II:II:I

cr500 motors are powerfull but i heard they vibrate soo much they tear apart the blaster, i got a yz 250, if i had that in my blaster, i could beat alot of people, id have to extend, widen everything, it would be crazy, go with the 250, my yz is stock except pipes and it still halls

I beleive a yz 250 is around 230lbs and the blaster 330lbs a engine swap will get you more power but it is a huge undertaking welding in motor mounts installing radiator's cutting and rewelding a 250 pipe to fit. all the electrical will have to be worked in also. Modifing the stock engine can get you close to the same horsepower without all of the headache. that's the route i will be taking.

a fully modified blaster doesnt evan toach the stock 50hp of a yz250, but your right, its a good winter job and requires skills and i doubt it would be reliable.

no way, it vibrates double the blaster, frame would crack from vibration, it has tons more power-more speed harder hits. im just saying the blaster frame was designed for a 17hp motor and the yz250 frame was designed for a 50 hp 50' jump bike. im not testing anybodys skills but yamaha engineering is differnt than back yard engineering. it can be done but just saying that i would expect things to break. the time and money it would take, just buy a used banshee. i dont beleive in motor swaps unless practical or big bragging rights.

well, not everyone shares your point of view. Thats not necessarily a bad thing. Just different.
Vibration and torque can be accounted for by someone who knows what they are doing with tube. Gusseting and Urethane Isolaters on the motor would take care of all that.
Don't be so quick to judge others skills, or lack thereof.

if u beef up the frame enough it would work, ive seen ninja motors put in blasters. there is alot of vibration tho, weve built 2 blasters with kx80 motors and it vibrates the frame to hell the silencer n motor mounts have cracked numerous times so a 250 motor would create some seriousss vibration, do i feel it can be done yea but u dont wanna be riding n be losing parts

well than do it and ride for a month and post results, i said it could be done, as long as your willing to repair after the ride, it will probly break you too because of some kind of failure
