I have an 00 blaster. The previous owner told me that it was bored out to about a 240 but i havent been inside of it yet to find out if it is or not. Aftermarket carb w/o tors attachment. Tors wires are jumped due to inconsiatant spark. Also has reed spacers and boyesen reeds.

On to the problem. I can start the quad and it will idle normally. However, whenever i move the throttle it bogs and then dies. If i have the choke out i can rev it up a little and feather the Clutch to make it start rolling but as soon and the choke is back in or i really get any sort of pressure on the throttle it will die.

Now my instinct was to do a top end rebuild but if i could i would like to save the time and money.

Any thought or solutions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

the tors wires do not get spliced for the pre 03 models.
find the tors box under the hood (3 wires) right above the cdi (5 wires) and just unplug it. disconnect the wires at the carb and throttle. do not splice anything.

a 200cc stock cylinder cannot be bored out to a 240cc.
more than likely .40 over, which equals a few cc's, not 40.

do a compression test to determine if a rebuild is in order.
should be above 110psi. or so, 120+ is ideal.
anything near or below 100 needs immediate attention.

a leakdown test should also been done.
