this is my first blaster its an 01 i bought it used it supposably bored out to 250 i but i was riding it today and i can hear a ticking sounds like the valves or lifters but then i was riding it and it just bogged down and shut off and now it wont start the spark plug had no gap at all idk wats going on please help

Ticking can be a result of piston slap... Blasters in general have noisy engines, between the reeds and exhaust working normally, but if it shut off on you then something definately went wrong. You may have broken a piston skirt and gotten a piece of the skirt in the cylinder. That piece could have hit the plug and forced the electrodes together. Its just a theory; time to do a compression test and see what kind of results you get. Also check your reed cage for damage. If the compression is weak, time to take the head/jug off and do some investigating.

a blaster is a 2 stroke it doesn't have lifters, valves, cam, etc... the top end is just a cylinder, head, piston, rings... the timing is in the bottom end on the stator/timing plate.

i guess nobody read his post... first off you cant bore it out to a 250cc, second you were either running lean and burned the tip of your spark plug off, or it fell off from not being regularly replaced and either got spit out the exhaust or went into your bottom end.

ok, is it locked up? does it still have compression? what all mods do you have done? what was the last thing you did to it before this happend? are you running the injector still? fresh gas? clean air filter?
