Engine makes weird noise when shut off

When I go to shut of my engine it makes a poof sound when it is almost died out. please help

It is backfiring. Do you turn the kill switch off then back on once it is almost off?

what you need to learn/will learn is that 2 strokes are unpredictable and never run smooth, always will have a choppy idle, may crack and pop or backfire hear and there ect. you cant sweat the small stuff on a 2stroke.

as long as you dont run lean you are always fine. just make sure your spark plug is brown, if its grey then its to lean. if its brown, then it really doesn't matter if it does some funny stuff now an then, thats just how 2 strokes are...
