I am only getting 3 volts to my tail light, oil indicator light and my headlight! The tail light and oil indicator light is very dim, nothing on the headlight. Looked at all the diagrams in the manual, what now? should I replace the voltage regulator? have 60 volts coming out of the CDI magneto!

Do you mean from the stator when you say CDI magneto, the lights have their own coil on the stator. You could test the resistance of that coil, check the stickied manual in the general support section for the specs. and how to test it.

If you unplugged all your lights and checked the voltage with the regulator unplugged, that would tell you if that was the problem. Just make sure to unplug your lights or they will blow if its the voltage regulator. Usually the regulator doesn't regulate at all though when it goes bad.

Testing complete...got 0.6 ohms off of stator wires while motor off...book recommends 0.16-0.24. I'm guessing this means the lighting coil is bad??? All lights do come on...but are very WEAK!!! Also, after looking at the manul, is it that hard to replace??? Thanks for the help!!!

Hardest part to replacing it is pulling the flywheel, which isn't bad but you need a flywheel holder and a puller as well. Then I believe its just two screws and the wires, and reassembly. It shouldn't be very hard at all to replace.

I called the local Yamaha dealer and Labor is $80.00 an Hour, wasn't too helpful but did diverge it would only be $40 in labor to fix! Will give it a shot and many thanks rideyamaha09!!! I will let you know too!!!
