Hey,

I have a 2001 Blaster 200. I can't start the quad by kicking it. The only way I can start it is by pull-start, and once started it runs fine. If I shut it off, but start it right up again, it will start. But if I let it sit for a couple minutes, it won't kick over. I think it's something electrical, but I can't figure out the problem. I was told that it could be the wire on top of the carb. and people sometimes disconnect it, but then something else has to be done. I don't know what the next step would be. Does anyone know what the next step is after disconnecting that wire?

:-/
Thanks,

well the wire on top of the carb is for the tors and it would not interfere with the bike starting it will cause crappy throttle response

did you check to see if you are getting spark? idk why it wont start by kicking it but after shutting it off and then it starts by kicking i dont understand why that would happen at all

there is a way to bypass the ignition so you dont have to use the key. but i still dont understand why you cant start it unless you pull start it and then when you shut it off and kick it it will start im confused

I was told i could by pass it too. I gonna try to totally explain the issue. I originally replaced the crank gasket, i put it back on fine. Then i realized that i didn't put the spring back on the kicker. So i took it apart it gain, then it was fine. After a couple rides the quad began to bog out, go to kick it, and i get nothing. So i was told to clean all the connects for corrosion. I did that then sometimes it would start, but then sometimes it wont. I'm getting spark from the plug, maybe just not enough. So that's why i jump it. When i jump it the quad runs totally fine. If i shut the quad off for a quick second it will sometimes start, but then sometimes it wont. When I bought the quad, they had mickey mouse a lot of the wiring. Over all the bike screws when i can get it started. I hope I"m making sense to you.

have you changed the spark plug yet try that and if it doesnt work you will likely need a new CDI and maybe a new stator
