Had to work on my brother in laws 2007 Dodge Charger today. It's having the P1004 code. The computer has been flashed and I have cleaned the short valve. I pulled the #11 fuse but light came back on after a couple of miles. It looks like new upper intake time but haven't found new ones on line. Any input on all this ?

Check all connections at the computer to make sure there connected right. I had an error haunting me on my dodge for a year and it was a loose connection at the computer. Its worth a try.

if u disconnect the battery for 1 min, sometimes it will give a faulty code, happened on my wifes car and everything was fine but i got the code, disconnected the battery and reconnected it and no problems.

The part that sucks is that if it still throws the code after the computer has been flashed, it calls for a new upper intake as a repair. It only comes complete. You don't use anything mounted to the old intake. Big money part like that.

take the short intake runner solenoid off, It`s the one on the drivers side of the plenum. You`ll see a notch in the solenoid and a tab inside the plenum when you remove it. Gently try to move the tab clockwise with you fingers or needle nose pliers. You`ll feel it is stuck. Go ahead and turn it anyway. It will free up. Then go get some Berrymans B12 or similar carburetor cleaner in a spray can and start spraying inside the plenum while turning the valve (tab) back and forth. You`ll notice that it starts moving more free after you work it a little bit. Now put the solenoid back on and clear the code. The reason it sticks is because of too much oil saturating the air intake plenum then forming "gunk", for lack of a better term.

Already did that. Thanks.
