so i just got my vforce3 reeds and installed them today, as the instructions state. but after wards i started the bike up and rode it around. felt the extra snap from the reeds but it seems like the idle has a deeper sound and it takes a little longer to come down from higher rpms. is this anything out of the ordinary or just the usual :-/

wassup neighbor, johnstown here
most guys and info say you dont have to re-jet for reeds, but an air screw adjustment may be needed, probably needs turned in a little to richen up the pilot circut, go a little (1/8th) turn at a time till it revs clean and returns to idle quickly, no hanging

if you didnt use any sealer on the reed cage gaskets then you prob have a tiny airleak from the vf3's not seating tightly. happens to me every time i pull my reeds. it may be a hair lean from the leak tho. i sell testers for a great price if you want one.

/\/\/\/\ good info too from holey, i failed to mention the poorly sealing vf3's cause mine sealed good, but lots of guys have sealing probs, and if ya dont have one yet, get one of his leakdown testers, will save you lots of $$$ in the end

The VF3's are my next mod , this is great info , I'll be sure to use a fair amount of copper gasket maker on the flange , I have a nice vito's spacer I got from a former member , anyone use a reed spacer? I wonder if the overall benefit is worth it?
