I just picked up an 06 with no spark arrestor...I think thats what it's called anyway. Does anyone have pictures of their stock piece?

I'm going to be replacing the whole exhaust in a few weeks but for the time being, I'd like to fab one up. Some of the parks here won't let you in without one. Thanks in advance!

if it's got the stock silencer, it's got a spark arrestor in there!!

They look like an ice cream cone made out of wire screen.

Thanks for the pic! So...is it hiding in there or something? On the back of mine, there's 3 threaded holes with nothing in them.

I can probably make one of those with some scrap metal and a pasta strainer :)

Stock exhaust?? I'm not positive, someone else will have to confirm, but I don't know if the stock exhaust uses this type of spark arrestor or if it uses baffles....I really don't know. If you put the back part back onto the stock silencer, I'm pretty sure you'd have a spark arrestor. I don't know, I've never taken the stock silencer apart.....

a spark arrestor will be somewhat like a strainer, they check by putting a stick in the back and if the stick wont go in they consider it a spark arrestor, a spark arrestor today is foolish 40 years ago Yamaha required you to run 10w30 motor oil in the injector, well when they got good and hot they would blow cinders out the exhaust and would catch woods on fire, with todays 2 stroke oil that would never happen but try and get one of those stupid forest rangers to understand is a waste of time.

ya it uses a baffle. i took mine apart. is has a baffle

If you need a Spark Arrestor, buy a cheap FMF or Pro Circuit silencer that specifically says it has a spark arrestor...

I know the FMF is called a "Turbinecore"
