I recently bought a 2002 yamaha blaster and i took the cylinder off thinkin it was locked because of the top end. i was wrong. it is still locked up tight. im gona put it in the shop to get it fixed. i really need info though. help is appreciated!:-/

most likely.....piece of piston jammed against the cases by the crank
could be locked up main though too

^^^^ yeah i agree with awk. if you are lucky there is just a piece jammed in there if you are not lucky the crank could be froze meaning you would need a new one..

pour some kerosine or oil into the crank. shake it around.
if it is just something lodged in there this might get it out.

Someone the other day had a flywheel bolt/rivet back out and jam against the case... Begin checking for anything holding up the assembly. Take both side covers off, look at everything to make sure something else isn't jammed...

I didn't hear you say you'd found any damage at all, so if the crank looks good, you might start thinking transmission. It it possible that it is in two gears at once, maybe caused by worn shift forks. Also, if you take off the right ride cover, look for something stuck in the gears, it wouldn't take much to lock them up.

Yea we were thinkin the crank bearing is out. Shifter is working though. thats a good thing! btw what do yall think about my pic? that 4 wheeler is the exact same as mine to the tires and the whole 9 yards! bought it for 150. is that a good deal?

damn good deal, looks good too, and different with them plastics
