I am replacing the crank seal on the tranny side and am having trouble removing the main drive gear nut. I read the post on this and tried their suggestions with the washer in the gears and then the rags in the gears. Neither one of these methods worked for me. I even took the stator cover off (had to re-seal it anyway) and held the stator nut while wrenching on the other side, the stator nut came loose immediately. My next option is to hold the clutch while wrenching. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Here bro get one of these.....
Motion Pro CLUTCH HOLDING TOOL from RJATV .

I have hear of sticking a penny in a rag and it works. I didnt try it myself. I have made a tool to hold the flywheel.

But that tool is a 2 in 1 tool one side will hold the flywheel and the other side will hold the clutch basket.

I got one at my local Honda stealership for 32.00.

I am going to try holding the clutch with a band type oil filter wrench tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I will have to get a clutch tool. Thanks for the suggestion.

Screw it! I have tried everything short of a blowtorch! I am taking it to the Yamaha shop today so they can get it off. Thanks for all the suggestions.
