Well the draggers forks finally gave. Hit a 5.65 1.81 60ft not even using 4th gear, just a drop out of the powerband into 5th. Ready to split cases now and can see the crank needs rebuilding. Rod is getting a lot of play and slapping. Need to know a few crank options for the rebuild. Would like to put a long rod but unsure if i should just buy another 3 mil or get a +4 since I'm sure the cases would need trenching if i was to get a long rod installed on the vitos. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a 3 mill already why not rebuild that with the long rod. Either or would be comming apart anyways. If you got the xtra$ i would go with the 4.

Rather not buy a whole new crank. Just put a 4 mil in the trailbike lol. Don't know much about crank rebuilds. Would like to get a lil more reliability but want more stroke than what i had. If case trenching would be required id want to go as big as possible

Would the stock rod rev faster than the long rod? Trying to avoid the trenching and a 4 mil if the power will be negligible. Motor ran 5.0s jetted rich on alky. Want to be the fastest stock frame blaster

I would give a builder a call and see what they have to say. I know of one that rebuilds the stock crank and for a very good price. Probably can rebuild the 3 mil at a good price as well? Use the 3 mill and put in a long rod? Will a 3 mill and long rod need trenching? I am pretty sure that it would but I am not certain. As far as power increase for the long rod I think it is negligible. It would be more in the line of reliability/smoother running more than anything? Why are you against case trenching? Give the builder a call. All your questions will be answered and they could give you a price range and what would best suit what you are looking for. Btw what compression are you at? What carb and How is your ignition set up?

Because i don't want to spend hundreds extra to just say i have an extra millimeter of stroke and still running the same et. Trying to get ahold of kor. Mycompression was around 170, 40mm lectron, advanced timing and nology coil and hotwire

6mm stokers exist out there somewhere. That with a longer rod would be nice, but Idk how much trenching and possibly welding extra material that might entail.

Already have talked to ken, will be rebuilding the 3 mil to save a little cash so i can save on sending him everything for a 6 mil. He will be resleeving my ct cylinder also. Last bore lasted 3 years and still looks extremely good for its age and abuse

Kor is probably about the only place to get a +6 crank anymore. Vitos made them about 10yrs ago but would probably be impossible to find now. If nothn else go with a +4 hotrods crank but have it taken apart and put the 115mm long rod on it and then trench the cases to fit and have a spacerplate made to get the port heights right.
