I put CR250 rubber mount bar clamps on our Blaster. Raised the bars 1 3/4" and the stock headlight won't mount now. Gonna try the higher bars too see how it feels. Have some lower bars that will get it close to stock if it won't go under low branches :) The liner fell out of the top of my thermos so I turned it into a headlight. Used the thermos cap, scrap alum mount, PVC pipe sleeve, magnifying lens that had fallen out of it's frame and a cheap china quad headlight for the bulb & socket.. Looks a little goofy but what do ya do. Gotta night ride. Think I should dump the light? Maybe I can put it down behind the bumper. Always tryin cheap tricks on this old Blaster.

Got the CR clamps from eBay. Had to make the adaptor. I think you can buy an after market stem with rubber mounts. I'm just too cheap :)

i kinda wondered if you made that adapter....i'll have to get on that sometime, i'm too broke to buy a stem with the rubber mounts in it lol

Looks like the center section of an old set of handle bars with a short length of the appropriate sized pipe welded on each end. I like this as it will give an extra fore/aft adjustment for the bars. The anti-vibe is just a bonus as I don't really notice much vibration from mine. Brilliant Otis, as usual. Thanks for dragging this up, I missed it the first time around I:I

Think the mounts where $10. The center piece is heavy wall pipe I knurled to match the Blaster mount. The end pieces I turned from solid bar to match the double inside taper of the CR mounts. Wouldn't have been comfortable welding to thin handlebar tubing. I know this won't break. Does the same job as a fancy new stem, just a bit heavier. You can control bar height by the bars ya use. This does allow you to adjust fore & aft a couple inches but it might look a little weird..
Gotta like how we filled the headlight mount holes. How ricey can ya get! LOL
