Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, and new to boasters in general. Recently bought a 2000 blaster that was almost stock(sleeved once). The piston was a little banged up, so I had to bore it .020 over. Also bought a used, aftermarket header pipe off of eBay, but not sure of the brand. It runs decent with the air boxx lid off, but still doesn't seem right, but with the lid on, it barely runs at all. It also doesn't want to idle on its own. Any ideas? I could use all the help I can get.

any aftermarket pipe, or anything that allows more air to flow (airbox lid), must be rejetted for that extra air
it sounds as if you need a carb cleaning too

You may need a bigger jet, or the air screw could be positioned wrong.
Multiple problems are possible, the idle may also be set too low.

leak test it, get some pics of the pipe and the blaster, clean carb, tell us all mods on it, tell us what main jet is in it then we could give you a number then go from there
Did some shopping. K&n filter, Vito's TORS eliminator, and a jet kit, running a 260 main. Now it's running great.
