Let me start by saying i am new to 2 strokes. I have worked on some 4 strokes in the past but this is my first 2 stoke. I bought a 2003 blaster that needed the crank rebuilt. I replaced the crank and the bearings and seals. Put on a new cylinder and new piston and rings. New reeds as well. I also did the oil pump delete and replaced the carb. with one from amazon. The one the previous owner gave me was the wrong one.

Now i have done a compression check and it has 120psi. I have good spark on a brand new spark plug ( it is a cheap one that came with the amazon carb). The Torrs was gone when i got the bike so im assuming it has been deleted by previous owner. I have torn apart the carb and confirmed all the jets are clean and the furl/air screw is 2 turns out. The bike still will not start. It wont back fire, or try to start. Nothing! Some one please help me figure out where to go next!

You hooked up a non-DOD cam and traditional lifters? What does a compression take a look at seem like? Can you get it to repeat that runs-with-no-#1-plug component? A-B-A (runs; would not run; runs)? Just to confirm it wasn't a one-off?

With fuel, spark, and good compression, I would be checking two things, obstructed exhaust (particularly if the quad has been sitting for awhile, think mouse nest) and ignition timing....in that order.

After checking the exhaust and timing (sheared flywheel key, @RIDE-RED350r will tell you, is quite common), make sure you are getting gas to the cylinder itself. When you checked the plug, was it wet or smell of gas? Verifying exhaust is clear and timing is good will bring us back to square one, which isn't a bad thing when diagnosing. Let us know what you find!

While I am thinking about it, you can pass a compression test and still fail a leak down test. Having just installed new seals (and any time after you are playing with the case), I would perform a quick leak down and make sure you do not have any air leaks.
