sorry for the dumb question that is probably really easy for you guys but i was told that getting a pipe and a silencer would really wake up my blaster i know the pipe will but what does the silencer do? im new to this stuff, thanks in advance

ive always thought the head pipe gives you the power, but the silencer gives you the nice sound people look for in two strokes.
i think the pipe is the power but the silencer i refer to as the muffer, because it kinda quiets the bike, ya know. or just maybe i dont know anything about WTF im talking about, either way someone is right.
the silencer is important for making power thats why all the pipe manufactures strongly advise against using a silencer of a different brand with their pipe they a specificly tuned to the pipe has something to do with the flow and velocity if you ever had a silencer with burnt up packing and then repacked it you feel a difference in power
yes, the head pipe makes more power possible, but the silencer does smooth out the exhaust flow and sound. i ran my Paul turner without baffle or packing in it, and the power curve changed definately. so yes, both are important, but the head pipe more so.
well the head pipe gives you the power but the silencer quiets the exaust plus it gives you back pressure wheich also gives you more power thats what i always thought
