when i start my quad in the cold it dose not like it is that normal it likes to die and when i go to hit the gas it bogs out like i'm running out of gas.



and on another note when im riding it can be in any gear but when i am full throttle and let of like half way the motor make a new noise. what dose piston slap sound like and if it is piston slap would it be all the time. i when about 9 miles that day i noticed it real bad and at the end of the ride it seem to keep making the sound until i let off the clutch and now it seem to be fine just putt putting around the house

you need to up your main jet for col wheather

I hate to be a defeatist but if you have not re jetted for the cold weather, that piston slap that you speak of could be the piston being destroyed by detonation caused by a lean mixture!

What header pipe do you have and what is the needle setting?

Fmf fatty and I jeted to 260 what should I go to 300???

I did that and it looked good to me but it was wormer outside

Yup. Rule of thumb is to rejet for every 20 degree change. And then re-plug chop to confirm

Ok didn't know that sho what should I go to can I go 300 and mess with the air screw to lean or rich it up if that makes sense

With correct jetting air screw should be from 1.5 to 2.5 turns out from all the way in. I would put in the 300 (someone else may give you a better idea as to what jet size to try, Im newish to two strokes) adjust air screw, plug chop and see where your at so you can adjust accordingly

Thanks bro I'm only knew at jetting and messing with the carb like I can clean it and take apart my motor and fix it like no problem let us soon as it comes to the carburetor and fuel there make sure I slacked there LOL

Messing with the air screw is a futile exercise, it controls only the idle and the very first of the needle circuit.

Set the idle speed as per specs and only touch the air screw to correct idle when changing altitude or temperature.
