well i was riding today and all of a sudden my clutch lever became very loose so i rode home because i was just cruising in 5th and then i noticed the little spring that hold the part the cable attaches to was off. and i was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone and what to do to fix it. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks. there will be a pictured attached because i dont not know how to explain it. in the picture the spring is on but the thing the red arrow is pointing to is snapped off.

if its the spring that broke, its prolly just a good idea to replace it. but you may be able to fix it.

loosen off the cable adjuster on the clutch then disconnect the clutch cable from that arm in the picture. then you should be able to rotate and wiggle that clutch arm out of the motor. with that out get it in a vice or somethin and pull the spring alittle tighter and bend another hook on it. these are usually quite loose so you may be ok ddoing this.
if you just broke the end off then you may still have enough to work with.
just a thought

alright so i got the spring to stay but now the clutch is really loose and doesnt disengage what could be the problem???

no never pulled the arm out yet, i can feel pressure but it is all from the spring and not the clutch

the clutch disks just come right out from the basket all together. and are really tight, is that bad?

The pressure plate that the push rod is connected to is what holds the clutch plates and friction plates in the clutch basket, the clutch plates and friction plates should only come out if that plate is removed. They do get stuck together from the trans oil. You need to adjust your clutch from the lever on your handlebars, as well as possibly the clutch mechanism adjuster ( the push rod attached to the pressure plate. If the pressure plate isn't flush against the last friction plate then either the clutch and friction plates are in the wrong order, or the pressure plate is not on right. There's a circle mark on the pressure plate and on the clutch boss, these marks must be alligned in order for the pressure plate to sit flush with the last friction plate.
